Yemeni Government Admits It Has Lost Control Of Nation Amid “Attempted Coup”
In what Yemen’s information minister described as an “attempted coup” Shia Houthi rebels (backed by Hizbollah and Iran) have surrounded the Yemeni Presidential Palace putting them, as The Telegraph reports, in direct confrontation with al-Qaeda and the Yemen government. Amid hopes of a compromise deal or cease-fire in the conflict that has been under way since September when the Houthis swept into Sana’a, the latest reports are the nation has gone from bad to worse…

Link? Reuters has this:
Houthis, accused of coup, surround Yemeni PM’s residence –
Obama bombed Libya and today the country is in chaos.
Obama made numerous drone attacks in Yemen, and today the country is in chaos.
Now Obama is bombing Iraq and Syria, and the countries are in chaos.
Obama’s “whack-a-mole” strategy for dealing with Islamic countries isn’t working out so great.

I heard an interesting view on the BBC today. Someone said the insurgents pretty much have control but refused to take over because then they know they’d be responsible for the country.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to try to run Yemen either.
Plantagenet, these countries were all in chaos before we started bombing. Droning might not be good policy but the fundamental problems existed before we got involved.

These countries were driven into chaos as soon as we westerners found out that they had oil.

GregT, you are correct. It is going to be a very hot summer in the ME and the drums of war are getting louder…

If these countries were in chaos before obama starting bombing them, they are in greater chaos today.
Obama’s attempt to conduct foreign policy by blowing people up isn’t very smart, and hasn’t been successful. And, just to complete the disaster, killing innocent civilians in drone attacks is a war crime, and US drone attacks in Yemen have become notorious for blowing up wedding parties and other innocent gatherings and killing numerous civilians.
Plant, I get the strange feeling that you do not care for President Obama’s handling of things.
Perhaps Hillary will be more to your liking?

Speculawyer, that is a very ignorant and cynical comment you made. Libya had the highest human development index of all of Africa. High education, extremely good health care. No poverty. NATO bombed into the stone age purely for greed and malicous intent.

As screwed up as DC is I don’t think I can stand the idea of voting again but if I were to vote it would not be for the female bulldog.I don’t vote for parties I vote for people. I will vote for parties if one has too much power. I like paralysis because less damage is done.
