I doubt if somebody is going to sit out a 2 hour video about opinions a non-professional might have had on peak-oil in 1998.

For those who don’t have the time to spend 2 hours watching a talk by this yesterday’s man, here is a shorter video with far more interesting and revealing opinions:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDu6ZEQANRQ

Just scroll to 6:18 to hear him say:

    “Who cares who killed JFK”

6:40, the same about 9/11. “it merely distracts energy away from more serious matters”.

So this is what the ‘Grand Old Man’ of the American left has to say about the JFK murder and who was behind 9/11: “Who cares”.

One is reminded of that other lefty intellectual, Howard Zinn, who also called 9/11 research a diversion.

Fascinating, a landmark event in world history, and these two prominent intellectuals don’t care who did it. Can you believe this?

There is only one explanation possible for their behavior: these very smart people understand very well, that if it were not Arabs that carried out 9/11, there is only one realistic other perpetrator of 9/11 and they would hate to see THAT truth coming out… because of their own strong ties to these perpetrators.

Oh, and JFK murder, same story. If not Oswald, then who did it?

Chomsky: “walk on, nothing to be seen, there are more important questions”.

    Yuk.

1998, wow that current eh? Btw, Chomsky is even more mush-headed now than he was back then. Sure from time to time he produces something compelling, but mostly, he just rambles. And ineffectively at that. The ‘left’ in the uS of War has been completely neutralized. Thanks in no small part, to the diligent efforts of guys like Chomsky.

Remember when JHK called Yergin an oil company whore and Chomsky defended him(Yergin) as ‘A very serious analyst?’

Cast here. They get into it around 51:21

    Nuff said.

I would take “Who cares” versus the response of the Bush Regime “Who cares what their reasons were, let’s claim it was because we are a democracy and then pretend Iraq had something to do with it.”

@davy – One of those supposed angles of right with iron wings – Sorry meant angle of the left. While I admire some of what he says I find him bent by idealism into say things that don’t add up. I too get lost in the rambles. The left can do better. I guess its like tenure once you hit a certain level you’re in the “IN”. Guys I tend to shy away from extremes of the left and right. I just never seen the extreme arguments of the ideologues add up. Yet, we must have the discourse to debate. So if you labels me here you may find me jumping in on your side at some point. I am not sure if that is a good mental policy for pushing an agenda but I think it is import in the search for “truth”. Truth knows no labels.
