BHP Billiton, Australia’s biggest oil and gas producer, said construction disruptions caused by hurricanes won’t delay the scheduled start up next year of the $2.5 billion Atlantis oil project in the Gulf of Mexico.
The BP Plc-operated project, which will have a daily capacity of 200,000 barrels of oil and 180 million cubic feet of gas, is scheduled to start in the third quarter, Melbourne-based BHP Billiton said today in its quarterly exploration and development report, lodged with the Australian Stock Exchange.
