Thankfully, unlike Lac Magantic, this didn’t happen in the middle of a town. There are dangers transporting petrol.

Wow. After learning more, my thoughts as with everyone affected.

Crude oil isn’t very dangerous, its condensate (pentane) that is the problem; boiling point 97 deg F.
NGL (ethane, butane, and propane) are rolling bombs, just waiting for a spark!

The cameraman is proving the incredible stupidity of the average American. Imagine the big beer belly, the cheeseburger stuck in his mouth, and the monster energy drink that smells like a bottle of ladies perfume.

Love how he thinks a camera is a paintbrush, he runs it up and down the scene of interest, rather than choosing a useful composition and stay with it.

Probably the same moron that broke a hose or threw a switch and set it on fire in the first place.

    Duhhhh !! Baaaah !!!

Villains here are the dispatchers that
did not inform the oil tanker train of the derailed grains cars on that single track. A mile long trains of coal or equally dense (130 tons per wagon) oil require constant track inspection and maintenance. Obviously, this much weight
can destroy any roadbed especially in a freeze/thaw scenario.

Post examination and investigation, as with almost everything weather related.
insurance companies will have the last word. Insurance rates will go higher just as they do post any oil spill.

Say what you will about insurance companies. They were first to realize effects on their bottom lines because of Global Warming.

Oh, by the way, Warren Buffett just traded a billion and a half bucks worth
of oil stock for pipelines owned by the same company.

Watch for him to sell off rails as the year progresses.

Expect K XL to be approved in January.

“Villains here are the dispatchers that
did not inform the oil tanker train of the derailed grains cars on that single track.”

the two trains were on separate tracks and based on the photos the tracks are at least 40 feet apart.

It wasn’t a head on collision on a single track. The trains were passing each other on separate track when one derailed and some of its cars blocked the other tracks.

These large trains also need a nile or more to stop. There may have not been enough time for the dispatchers to warn and stop the other train.

It is less about the “cameraman” (an insult to refer to this as a camera) and more about the inferior device used to record it (aka Shit-Phone). Every smart person carries a decent interchangeable lens camera on him, only dumb people carry worthless trinkets that suck at everything but can do “many things poorly.”

Dumb Americans, destroying life everywhere until there is nothing left.
