The U.S. has designed a bunker buster penetrator bomb that will take out Iran’s Fordow nuclear enrichment complex, a target previously considered too fortified for conventional weapons. The new weapon, which cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce, is considered critical to an effort by the United States to convince Israel that the U.S. can effectively bomb the Iranian underground complex, according to a report published by The Wall Street Journal.
The Journal reported that senior U.S. officials showed the Israelis a secret Air Force video showing a test of an earlier version of the bomb. The show-and-tell is described as an attempt to convince Israel to hold off on a unilateral attack on Iranian nuclear installations.
Haaretz reports that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has assured the Israelis that the U.S. will consider military options against Iran following the country’s summer elections. The Journal reports that an understanding was reached on action against Iran during Hagel’s recent visit to Israel. It is said both countries will conduct a “joint situation assessment” following the Iranian elections and if diplomatic efforts are ruled out discussions on military action will be considered.
Iran’s election will not determine the outcome of Iran’s nuclear program, so the assessment appears pointless. “Bizarre, to say the least, because Iran’s president has limited power over the nation’s civilian nuclear program, and even less on the P5+1 negotiations. Rather, while Ahmadinejad’s rhetoric is often cited as an excuse for war, his actual ability to implement changes in Iranian policy is comparatively minimal,” writes Jason Ditz.

Well i’m incredibly apprehensive to have the US in another war, and we can’t just conduct a military strike on Iran and not have them go to war over it, they aren’t going to just take it, but they cannot have nukes, we cannot let another North Korea happen, but Iran would be much more powerful

If this happens, kiss the West (Washington, London, Paris, Berlin) goodbye and prepare yourself for the rise of the North (Paris, Berlin, Moscow) on the very moment that the first oil tanker in the Gulf will be sunk by Iranian missiles and Europe will be cut off from oil for months to come. Fortunately Russia will deliver… at a geopolitical price.

Don’t worry—Obama is incompetent. He is completely of incapable of getting the US Congress to pre-approve military action in Iran as required under the US Constitution.

If they did, they would indeed be fools … but don’t count it. People have been predicting an “imminent invasion of Iran this summer” for about the last 5 years … Not sayin’ it can’t or won’t happen, just that this summer they might still be kinda busy with Syria. A major economic/financial meltdown could precipitate things of course, as they would then need to direct attention to some really evil, outside enemy in order to prevent civil wars in the West.

Why do you fret so much about your figurehead, puppet president Plant? In a few years, he will be replaced by another figurehead, or perhaps another war-criminal more to your liking, say, of the Dick Cheney type? Either way, your current corporate puppet can hardly be called a disappointment can he? To the war-mongers that is. Hes consistently delivered wars, torture, false-flags and increased tension in every part of the world during his appointment. The war-police state has never been this powerful, or as violent. So how you can call Obomber ‘incompetent’ is beyond me. Unless your disappointed he hasnt dropped nuclear weapons on Syria or Iran yet? Is that what bothers you so much?

If I had a dollar for every article I’ve read about a potential US/Israeli attack on Iran…
Seriously, I’m absolutely sick and bloody tired of being bombarded by such speculations!
We here in the West have been living with this fear since 2007? (or at least this is when I’ve started to be aware of it)
No one deserves to live with this threat! Not the Israelis. Not the Americans. Not the Persians! We all believe this could be a watershed moment in our history, officially announcing WWIII.
Why doesn’t Obama just stop at 7/11 or Wal-Mart, get an international calling card and make a personal phone call to Ahmadinejad? Meet in Brussels for coffee, or anywhere else. Have a game of golf, or whatever! Get to know each other on a personal basis. This isn’t physically impossible. It’s only a barrier of the mind.
I’m SO sick and tired(!) of this ongoing B.S. I’ll actually starting tuning everything out and start watching Dancing With the Stars. Seriously! I swear I’ll do it! I never have before but I just might have to.
Enough already!!! I, and everyone else, are sick of this! Everything has changed since 2007.
High unemployment. Sky-rocketing national debt. Bankruptcies. Wars. Controversies over 9/11. Arab Spring. Drone warfare, etc. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I’m saturated with this type of news!!! EXASPERATED!!! Screw this! You know what? I’m going outside to lay on the grass and use my imagination to figure what the clouds look like. Or better yet: I’ll go feed the ducks at the local lake.
Okay, so I’ve had my little rant and rave of the day and now I’m done. It’s out of my system and I feel a little better.

(P.S. I’m not upset with anyone who posted this news article on this website)

Arthur, do you really think the EU will be immune to what happens in the Gulf? I suspect Russia will be involved and that fuel you are expecting them to deliver may not arrive on your doorstep next winter. Another price spike will destroy the Western economy totally. Iran could be the key to the total collapse of globalization. What do you use that is imported?
Arthur on Mon, 6th May 2013 5:31 am
Bill, read my post carefully… I do expect the EU to be hurt much more from an Iranian blockade than the US because we rely much more on oil from the Gulf. What I am saying is that we will become totally dependent on Russian oil and that Russia can and will use its oil (and gas) to force the EU into neutrality or even take the side of SCO. And the EU will have no choice but to comply. Russia always has the option of selling to Asia instead of to the EU in case the Gulf will be blocked. An attack on Iran will have gigantic repercussions for the global alliance structure and could terminate the Atlantic alliance. Remember that on Iraq in 2003 Germany and France ALREADY sided with Russia.

Nothing speculative about it. I get the same mocking remarks from my friends, about when finally the professed attack against Iran is going to happen. I always reply that Roosevelt had been beating the war drums against Germany in a similar fashion for full eight years before he got his war. Patience.
