Whining Americans…I get tired of their complaining about the cost of gas when they are paying more for a real renewable resource, milk. And I will not get into the costs of wine or, gasp!, hard liquor. A gallon of gas will move 2 tons at least 20 miles.
Do you know how many men it would take to match that energy release? At a load of sand weighing 100 lb. per each man, it would take 40 men at least an 8 hour day to move it that far. Assuming $5 per hour (Mexican labor. Few Americans could even lift 100 lbs.) that comes out to $1,600.00
So, you get $1,600.00 worth of work done for less than $4. Whiners! Wait until you cannot get it at any price. That time is coming.

Quite right Bill, but there is another dimension to your point to consider as well. Even with amerikas atrocious min. wage laws, how does it take to make that 3.78? 40 mins work? 30mins?, less than an hour in any event. An amerikan even sitting a self-serve gas bar running a till will make that $1600 worth of labor equivalent in yea, about 30mins or so. And they can even suck down sugary drinks and read People magazine while sitting on there cellulite laden butts while doing it.
