Too many are actually wanting the ‘end’ to come so they can leave this disaster world and go to some perfect place where they will be safe and happy forever. Jim Jones writ large. But, if you tell someone that it is true from the first day they can understand what you say until they are dying on their death bed, they will drink the cool aid gladly.
They don’t believe that it is actually going to happen. The second coming is imminent. No worries. Just keep living as if nothing is happening. Go to church and ‘believe’.

Jim Jones is a good example of how confused people are easily let. Al gore using peak oil and the environment is a similar example but on a much larger scale and far more dangerous.

Ah yes, the big left wing conspiracy of global warming perpetuated by Dr. Evil himself Al Gore. Holy crap SOS you are an imbecile!

Jim Jones is a good example of how confused people are easily let. Fox “News” using propaganda and lies is a similar example but on a much larger scale and far more dangerous.
If you know your stuff, move along… too much dramatic negativity for my taste. Poor dude is in phase four of grief (depression)and felt the need to share….
“There is no way out”, ” hope is a hopeless word?!”……. NO
There will be change, a massive transition, sure. BUT we must have hope in a better future, it is the only functioning mind set. prepare your family and your LOCAL community.
Stop whining and get out there and make a change.
GO LOCAL….

Jim Jones is a good example of how confused people are easily let. But if you really enjoy propaganda, MNBC, CNN, ABC,CBS “News” using propaganda and lies is a similar example but on a much larger scale and far more dangerous.

poaecdotcom…..dream on. Transition? Where? A few small groups that will fall apart when the SHTF. Yes, if humanity survives this, there may be scattered tribes around the world in 100 years, but not likely in the Western countries. Greed is too popular there.
If nothing, then you might as well be in line for the ‘kool-aid’ yourself.
No there MUST be hope…
Of course TRANSITION, there was tribal life before oil and there will be after.
I do not dispute the carrying capacity of earth will be will be closer to a billion (probably less).
BUT if you resign yourself to be one of the 6 billion then ask yourself why?
Not I.
As a sentient life form we have the drive to survive and I am not about to relinquish mine.
I am working hard for a transition town to localize food systems and build resilience to when the SHTF. Am I naïve to think it a cake walk…. Nope, but read my blog (poaec.com!) if you think I am not serious.
Now if you are still not convinced.,…. read the first six lines of my post again and
Go Local!!
BillT, I believe you bring a lot of GREAT thought to this community and I thank you but please search for some positivity and put that good brain of yours to work !!

What do you propose then BillT?
