As America’s engineered economic implosion accelerates, the parallels with how the Roman empire fell are staggering. It is now abundantly clear that the ruling class is preparing for a planned economic implosion after which they will declare themselves the saviors.

I agree. The only difference is: the Roman Empire took about 200 years to fade into the sunset. The American Empire will not last 2 more decades.

Make that one decade.

About Rome:
Height: 117 AD (2,5 mill sq mi, 88 million people)
Downfall: 476 AD
The rise of the US empire started in 1945, after the intentional destruction of the European empires, in close cooperation with the Soviet-Union. The beginning of the end was in 2003 in Afghanistan (and Iraq), that graveyard of empires. The USSR was thrown out in 1980 and disintegrated around 1990. The end of US presence in Afghanistan is in sight.

The general rule of thumb, is the society is too complex. They have laws about wearing your seat belt, and next they will have onboard computers that issue speeding tickets based on the navigation data. Then what happens is, all that complexity cannot even be maintained by the successors. We have that now, we can’t even keep bridges painted, that the prior generation has built. The society should never have been made so complex in the first place. It was a lot simpler in the 60’s and 70’s and it should have deliberately stayed that way, for a vibrant, enjoyable, lasting enduring civilization.

Norm, soon the 70’s will be back again, then the 60’s, etc, way back to 1850.
