Cipi…it is a DRY continent and 24 million may be all it will be able to support in 50 years or less. You need an education…the deserts of Africa are larger than Australia and were once forests.

Some people can not understand that we have a resource crisis coming head to head with an over population crisis. Over population makes every other problem harder to solve.

Anvil, something IS taking a stand. Mother Nature is lining up the plagues and other disasters that will cull the herd. As climates shift and grain belts dry up, starvation and all of it’s brothers will start the process. Happens with EVERY species that exceeds it’s resources. EVERY ONE. Humans are NOT exempt.
As for anyone doing anything about it…never happen. Religions are against birth control. Here in the Philippines where a country the size of Florida has 90 million people, the Catholic Church is fighting the government to prevent family planning or handing out free condoms to the poor. THAT is why we will destroy ourselves. Think about it. Mormons and Muslims have the same big family beliefs as they think this is only where we get a body and Heaven is where we get our “reward”.

I was thinking more low key efforts from Dick Smith.
Like stopping the flood of extreme anti birth control religions immigrating to Australia. That Shillard has caused with her lax border control measures allowing 400000 into Australia per year. Up from 200000 in the Howard years.
Ditch the witch. Before the next drought make these immigrants difficult to deal with.
