Northwest, Delta Set to File FOr Bankruptcy Protection

NEW YORK (AFP) – Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, two of the major US carriers, are both preparing to seek bankruptcy protection as soon as Wednesday.

If the petitions are filed, that would leave four of the six so-called “legacy” airlines operating under bankruptcy protection.
