Making a case for the benefits to be derived by the use of renewable sources of energy, Vilas Muttemwar, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Non-Conventional Energy Sources, predicted on Thursday that at least 25,000 Indian villages would be powered by renewable energy by the year 2012.
…Lisiting the priorities of his ministry, he further went on to say that market penetration of alternate fuels systems and devices for stationary, portable and transport applications would be at the top of the agenda . The second priority was..augmenting rural energy needs through bio-energy. The third priority was to deploy renewable energy systems and devices for industrial, commercial and urban use. The fourth was providing grid-interactive renewable electricity that could replace coal.
