Coconut oil cash to flow

The people of Gulf Province (Papua New Guinea) can now expect more cash flow in the province with the launching of the Gulf coconut project by Governor Chris Haiveta at Iokea village last Friday.

Mr Haiveta has committed K300,000 to kick start the project that will see villagers earning an income for themselves by making products such as bathing soap, laundry soap, cooking oil, coconut oil for motor vehicles and other products from processed coconut. Mr Haiveta also gave Iokea villagers a coconut oil processing machine which cost K2500.

This machine will be able to produce at least 15 litres of coconut oil per day.
