US-based offshore oil exploration company is legally challenging a South African government agency’s decision not to award it a licence to investigate potential oil fields off the South African coast.
Global Offshore Oil Exploration (South Africa) – whose holding company Global Energy Holdings is based in Colorado – wants the Cape High Court to review and set aside an October 2004 decision by the South African Agency for the Promotion of Petroleum Exploration and Exploitation rejecting its application for a “technical co-operation agreement”.
