Learning to grow food is an important skill to acquire when preparing for Peak Oil…One family is preparing for Peak Oil over a 10 year period and this is their garden after the third year..

Nice going. It will be interesting to see what you have after 10 years.
If I were doing it I’d work backwards – how many people do I want to feed, what is the total food required for a year based on nutritional requirements as well as variety and preferences and how much can I store in a home canning, drying, plus cold cellar, what will keep in the ground over winter etc.
Of course if things get bad the 99.999 % of people who haven’t made any preparations are going to want to steal your food! Then what?
