Climate change could make much of the world too hot for human habitation within just three centuries, research released Tuesday showed.
Scientists from Australia’s University of New South Wales and Purdue University in the United States found that rising temperatures in some places could mean humans would be unable to adapt or survive.
“It would begin to occur with global-mean warming of about seven degrees Celsius (13 Fahrenheit), calling the habitability of some regions into question,” the researchers said in a paper.
“With 11-12 degrees Celsius warming, such regions would spread to encompass the majority of the human population as currently distributed.”
Researcher Professor Steven Sherwood said there was no chance of the earth heating up to seven degrees this century, but there was a serious risk that the continued burning of fossil fuels could create the problem by 2300.

Very good article. Thanks for sounding the alarm. But I wonder if there is anyone listening!?
Beginning with the industrial revolution, human have turned the Earth into a gigantic heat generator with powerful thermo-runaway, positive feedback loop characteristic that has been heating itself to destruction.
Perhaps, the ancient way of life may be a solution to this problem. But the entire human race have to have the will to carry it out in order to see if it is an effective solution. Green energy and/or renewable energy are just make-shift solutions, not long term solution.
A humble life of way may be a solution!

Humankind (a.k.a.: ewe-man-unkind) are rather clever baboonies. Laptop computers, the internet, cell phones, 747 jets, Bentley $edans, maple syrup, eggs benedict, silk shirts, etc. are just a few things that demonstrate how clever and creative humans are.
Most unfortunately humans are not wise or very prescient. Many people lack common sense, the bankster gambler addicts in the Wall $treet casino for example. This dearth of common sense and prescience explains the bizarre and insane DOCTRINE OF PERPETUAL GROWTH of the human population and the global consumer economy in a closed looped system (the Earth). It explains religion and the Nazi Pope.
Three hundred Earth years from now… the sun will still shine. And the earth will still orbit the sun as it does now. However… the oceans will be more or less DEAD! There will be no United $tates. No Europe or Israel or China. No Jeeezass or Mohammad-mad-mad. Infact most humans on Planet Over-Birth Earth, will be long dead. Indeed! The ‘especies’ will probably be extinct.
Why will humans be extinct 300 Earth years from now? Well… WHERE THERE IS NO INSIGHT, THE PEOPLE PERISH!

Isn’t that temperature forecast based on the assumption that we’ll continuously be burning fossil fuels at ever increasing rates into the 22nd and 23rd centuries? I don’t think so with peak oil and all. The only way that could happen is if there was some massive methane hydrate release or something like that.
