Climate change urgent, group tells senators

YORK, Maine

Members of the group will be guests of the York Energy Efficiency Committee at a forum at York Public Library on Sept. 17.

Repower Maine is a chapter of Repower America, launched in 2008 by the Alliance for Climate Protection, an organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore. According to the state director of Repower Maine, Andrew Kain, its focus is on green jobs and green energy. The catalyst is the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which passed the House last fall and is awaiting Senate action.
