Partisan divide greets energy bill

The Senate began debate on a sweeping energy bill Tuesday but quickly became embroiled in tussles over oil imports and renewable energy sources.

Encouraged by a spirit of cooperation that characterized work on the bill at the committee level, senators remain optimistic they will pass a comprehensive energy package before the Fourth of July holiday.
