Aiyar to talk on pipeline extension to China

Petroleum minister Mani Shankar Aiyar will visit China in November and may discuss the possibility of extending the proposed Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline to south of China. In addition, India may also explore the option of buying natural gas from Qatar through the undersea pipeline enroute Pakistan. At present, India is importing 5 mtpa liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar at Dahej through ships.
