Protests against rising fuel prices crippled parts of Europe and spread to Asia and South America yesterday with lorry drivers threatening more militant action if governments did not help to ease the burden of rising costs.
French drivers blocked roads in a day of action organised by the main haulage associations.
From Calais to Marseilles, “snail” convoys of slow-moving lorries crippled traffic.
