Jim DiPeso on America’s Energy Future

It was truly refreshing talking to a Republican who shares my concerns about the environment, peak oil and America’s floundering, stuck-in-the-20th century energy policy. I am sure there are issues we differ on, but on this one, we are very much in harmony.

What precipitated my call to REP’s policy director, Jim DiPeso was an incendiary press release his organization issued last week chastising Congress for it pork-barrel ladened energy bill that hands billions to wealthy energy companies, while short-shifting research into truly sustainable energy technologies, including plug-in hybrids and advanced batteries that will make electric cars practical.
