Petrol prices around Britain are continuing to soar after talks aimed at averting a strike by workers at the giant Grangemouth oil refinery broke down last night.
A two-day strike by up to 1,200 workers at the site in Scotland will now go ahead on Sunday and Monday, threatening fuel supplies.
More than a quarter of filling stations have increased their unleaded prices and four out of ten have raised their diesel prices since the Grangemouth crisis began on Friday.
