Zimbabweans trying to survive food shortages, lengthy power outages, lack of fuel and other economic and social pressures have found a way to let the world know of their suffering – regular emails to friends and family abroad.
This despite threats by the Zimbabwean government that all emails and phone calls are to be monitored.
All the emails tell the same story: “Things are really not good at all”.
Viv from Bulawayo reports there is major looting going on, with officials she calls government price commissioners – police and intelligence officers – doing most of the grabbing.
