Preliminary predictions say that about 5.71 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be extracted from the Shah-Deniz field in 2007, with the figure climbing to 8.5 billion cubic meters next year, and 9.8 billion cubic meters in 2010.Oil production is expected to rise as well, reports the news agency Regnum. There are currently 35 wells operating in the Azeri-Chirag fields, which are producing an average of 90 000 tons of oil per day.
Regnum writes that 43 million tons of oil will be extracted in 2007, and 65 million tons in 2010.
