Big Oil, Detroit and old-line utility firms will continue to wade into renewable energy and other ways to cut greenhouse-gas emissions despite a legacy steeped in fossil fuels, an energy consultant said Monday.
While U.S. oil imports from the Middle East won’t likely dwindle for the next 10 years, major energy companies such as BP Plc are moving more aggressively toward alternative forms of energy, according to Priscilla McLeroy, a Houston-based director in Arthur D. Little’s energy practice.
