Venezuela Willing to Supply Low Cost Oil to Fiji

The government of Venezuela has expressed its willingness to engage with Fiji on the possibility of establishing an oil refinery and supply low cost oil in the country.

Interim Minister for Public Enterprise Poseci Bune has revealed that he met with officials from Venezuela while in New York recently and they discussed the idea.

Bune said the South American country supplies oil to China, US and some Caribbean African states and is looking at expanding into Asia and the Pacific.

The Interim Minister also revealed that Venezuela also extended an invitation to Fiji for a delegation visit to further discuss these energy initiatives with other issues of mutual interest and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.
