MANAMA: The demand for oil will increase by 55 per cent in the second quarter of the century, Oil and Gas Affairs Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza said yesterday.
A reason why oil explorations must be expanded, oil resources handled more seriously and producer-consumer co-operation promoted, the minister said as he opened the 15th Middle East Oil Show.
The conference is being organised under the patronage of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Dr Mirza will today inaugurate the bidding round for off-shore exploration and on-shore development and production. This is part of National Oil and Gas Authority programme in association with Bapco to invite international oil companies in invest in production and exploration in the off-shore blocks of Bahrain, said Bapco chief executive Dr Mustafa Al Sayed
