Premier Dalton McGuinty has asked gasoline suppliers to ensure no town goes dry.
McGuinty said yesterday that a “perfect storm” of conditions led to the provincewide shortage of gasoline, but the worst should be over within seven to 10 days.
“So the first thing that I would say to Ontarians is … let’s stay cool; let’s stay calm; we’re going to get through this together,” he said.
“This is not the fault of anyone.”
A combination of a fire at the Imperial Oil refinery in Nanticoke, the CN rail strike and the frozen St. Lawrence Seaway led to the gas shortage, McGuinty said.
