India to team up with China in oil race

India plans to join hands with China in a joint strategy to bid for foreign oil projects and avoid cut-throat competition that makes petroleum assets more costly, Indian oil minister Mani Shankar Aiyar said on Tuesday.

The energy-hungry country is also planning to host oil ministers from Russia and Central Asia in March, hoping to secure oil supplies for its rapidly growing economy.
