ExxonMobil Corporation’s plans to pump oil from its Kizomba B project offshore Angola in the second half of this year are on track following the arrival of a drilling platform in Luanda, Exxon and the state oil firm said today.
Kizomba A is producing around 200,000 bpd and is due to reach peak production of 250,000 later this year, while Xikomba, also on Block 15, is slated to churn out an average of 60,000 bpd this year.
Angola produces just over one million barels a day and is sub-Saharan Africa’s second largest producer after Nigeria.
