Ireland: Private power plant needed to prevent an energy crisis

The Irish government has told the energy regulator that he should get a private operator to build a new electricity power plant to prevent blackouts that would cripple Irish industry.

The new plant would guarantee security of power supply and increase the level of competition facing the state-owned ESB in the electricity market.
