China looks to develop more domestic energy sources – official says

China will look to develop domestic sources of energy in the years ahead, with conservation at the heart of the energy agenda, said Ma Kai, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission.

He said that China will strive for greater energy conservation, with the aim of lowering the country’s energy consumption per unit of GDP by 20 pct over the 2005 to 2010 period.
