Oil and gas producers says a looming labour crisis will slow down Taranaki’s energy boom within a year unless more workers are found.
The Pohokura and Kupe gasfields are being developed, as well as the Tui and Maari oilfields, and there are a number of on and offshore exploration projects.
The Petroleum Exploration and Production Association says there is a serious skill shortage and it is spending $75,000 to try to find a solution.
