Nuclear energy will be the predominant form of energy in the next five decades and account for up to 35% of total power generated in the country by 2050, according to a projection by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
“Nuclear energy will constitute about 30 to 35% of total electricity produced in the country, which will amount to around three lakh MW of electricity,” said R C Nakul at ‘Energy Foresight-India 2050’ that was held at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai.
