China’s current economic growth mode must be converted to an energy-efficient one in the shortest possible time frame, since the robust economic development of the past few years has been achieved with a disproportionately high consumption of resources, energy and deterioration of the natural environment.
The new industrial production mode with low resource consumption and low environmental pollution requires the establishment of an effective information infrastructure. The development and application of information technology can help improve production efficiency, reduce resource consumption and production costs, and increase the overall energy consumption rate.
