Enzymes may hold answer to harnessing hydrogen power

Enzymes rather than scarce and expensive platinum may hold the answer to the hydrogen fuel cells of the future to halt global warming and as the oil runs out, a scientist said on Wednesday.
Fraser Armstrong, chemistry professor at Oxford University, said that enzymes known as hydrogenases are more effective than platinum at converting hydrogen into electrons, but the chemistry is not fully understood.
