Formula change worries keep diesel prices up

WASHINGTON

The main issue propping up diesel prices is a change in the formulation of the fuel.

In an effort to reduce pollution, government rules dictate that starting Oct. 15, the sulfur content of diesel must be no more than 15 parts per million, down from 500 parts per million.
