Gas hydrate found at shallow depth

An international team of scientists has found natural gas hydrate deposits in depths of only about 165 to 395 feet below the seafloor off western Canada.

Researchers said gas hydrate, a natural geological hazard, is usually found in depths exceeding about 1,600 feet, and in Arctic permafrost regions.
