Protests against oil price hike

Demonstrations started early on Saturday in Kathmandu and other major cities against Friday’s government decision to increase the prices of petroleum products.

Students and general public took out protest rallies, burnt tiers and blocked roads in Lainchaur, Sorakhutte, Gaushala, Chabhil, Balkhu, Kalanki, Maharajganj, Kupondole and Kalimati. According to Himalkhabar.com the protestors vandalized a gas station in Maitidebi, and damaged private and public vehicles.
