(Dow Jones)- China’s July crude oil imports totaled 10.64 million metric tons, or 2.52 million barrels a day on average, preliminary data issued Thursday by the General Administration of Customs showed.
The figure is down 4.1% on year as China shipped in 11.1 million tons of crude oil in the same month last year.
In the period from January to July, imports of crude oil rose 12.9% to 83.98 million tons as the country tapped overseas markets more for oil to power its fast-growing economy.
