San Jose Mercury News – To all those who thought the apocalypse was coming when they passed the Stop Corner gas station in West San Jose this morning, fear not: The era of $9 gas is not yet here.
For at least a few hours, though, the store’s display sign suggested otherwise.
Pranksters apparently switched the first and last digits of the station’s prices — making a fairly standard $3.09 for a gallon of regular unleaded into a jaw-dropping $9.03.
