Auto industry sources say the real action will start when market leader Maruti and second biggest car maker Hyundai blink. But even if the price mark-up takes another couple of weeks to come about, the gas bill is going to pack in quite a bite. AutoMania worked out the math for the average car-owner who travels around 50 kms a day.
In Delhi the petrol price post hike is at Rs 47.5 a litre, while diesel is at Rs 32.4 a litre. This is the third petro price hike in the last 12 months and the total incidence works out to around Rs 9.50 for petrol and Rs 6 for diesel.
