U.S. Energy Secretary Says He’s Optimistic Despite Energy Costs

U.S. Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman said Friday he is optimistic that the nation’s economy will continue to improve despite rising energy costs.

Bodman, in Connecticut to tour the University of Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center, pointed to new labor statistics showing the nation’s unemployment rate has dipped to 4.6 percent, the lowest since the summer of 2001.
