India Faces Major Electricity Crisis

05/13 (LWN) A severe electricity crisis has affected India, especially in the northern region and capitol, for the past several days. India is seeking additional natural gas supplies to remedy this problem.

Pakistan’s Daily Times newspaper reported that widespread power outages occured in India while temperatures reached into the 40s (over 100F). It stated that angry protesters had entered power stations and govt. offices, causing them to be arrested.
