Locating, developing and refining enough crude oil and natural gas to power our national economy is a formidable undertaking. Those of us who live in states that not only allow but encourage the presence of energy companies should understand the significance of that undertaking and support the effort.
Those who live in areas that prohibit or stifle the process that turns oil and gas into fuel for our homes and cars, and the raw materials that create products ranging from garbage bags to designer clogs, must understand they have put themselves in a most vulnerable position.
