DOHA–Members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries will triple surplus oil production capacity, the group’s chief told Japan’s trade minister Sunday in separate talks at the International Energy Forum.
OPEC President Edmund Daukoru told Toshihiro Nikai that surplus capacity will be raised to 4 million barrels and later to 6 million barrels per day from current 2 million, Japanese officials said.
