It’s another day of record-breaking heat across Texas, but Tuesday, the lights are staying on after Monday’s rolling blackouts. Now some state lawmakers are charged up over the energy crisis.
People at the Texas Capitol were able to shed some light on why parts of Texas went dark Monday.
Some are demanding a full investigation into a system they’d been led to believe wouldn’t fail.
Monday’s rolling blackouts in Austin and around Texas didn’t plunge the Capitol into darkness, but the crisis is jolting lawmakers.
“I was a little freaked out when I get a phone call saying we’ve got power shortages occurring across the state,” Rep. Phil King, R-Chair of the House Regulated Industries Committee, said.
