Homeowners hit by rates bill hike

BELFAST – Ulster households are facing financial hardship as predicted higher rates bills start to arrive through letterboxes across the Province.

East Belfast MP Peter Robinson yesterday led the criticism of the increased burden on Northern Ireland’s homes.

“A regional rate increase of 19 per cent in a single year cannot be justified and will hit those who are just above the state benefit level particularly hard,” said the DUP MP.
