U of A engineering professor key figure in study to best develop untapped U.S. resources
Uncle Sam wants David Sego.
The University of Alberta engineering professor and principal investigator for the Devon Oil Sands Tailings Research Facility fits the bill in a report commissioned by the United States Department of Energy.
The recent paper — Undeveloped Domestic Oil Resources: The Foundation for Increased Oil Production — reminded Americans they have untapped oilsands and called for imports of Canadian talent to start an industry.
While keeping his Edmonton jobs, Sego is working overtime on the U.S. resource as newly appointed executive vice-president of technology for Wentworth Oil Sands of Texas.
