The IEA has published a fact book called “Renewables in Global Energy Supply”. It seems as if biomass contributes more energy to the world than nuclear does. A closer look shows that 86% of the world’s biomass power is being generated in countries outside the OECD while most of the “new” renewables (wind/solar/geothermal/tide) are developed inside the OECD.
