ROME (AP) – Italian oil and gas company Eni SpA said it expected natural gas supplies from Russia to be 16.2 percent below requested volumes for a 24-hour period starting Saturday morning.
The figure was the same as the one reported over the previous two days.
Eni has reported frequent shortages of its gas supply from Russia in the past few weeks.
The company said it will use existing stocks to offset the shortfall, but said the net effect will be that Italy’s gas supply will be 3.8 percent below the expected levels Saturday.
Russia’s natural gas monopoly Gazprom says the supply reductions to European customers do not violate contracts.
